More About Jamie
Jaime’s role to an individuals recovery is heartfelt and trauma informed as she understands that substance use and addiction can be a maladaptive coping mechanism that is commonly rooted from unresolved trauma. Jaime has lived experience along with education specializing in addiction and trauma. Her favorite therapeutic modalities are CBT, DBT, IFS, and Parts Therapy. Through these modalities, Jaime is fascinated and eager to provide support while individuals navigate and explore their own personal behaviors to identify how and why these were learned or adopted in order to survive. Jaime provides psychoeducation using these various modalities and is able to identify which modality an individual responds more to in order to create a safe environment with strong rapport that opens the door to vulnerability and healing.
Jaime’s lived experience has provided her with a sense of understanding, empathy, and connectivity to others that are in a challenging place and season of their lives. She has been working to help others since 2020 where she began her work specializing in co-occurring disorders. Jaime is also connected to a team that provides outreach services to the transient community. The term “walking alongside” to Jaime means that Jaime is the passenger and the individual seeking help is the driver. All decisions are made by the individual that has to live that life and by providing the right sense of safety for someone, they will feel confident to lean into suggestion and seek direction from another mind that did not create discontent. Jaime enjoys providing psychoeducation of cognitive distortions and helping others challenge distorted forms of thinking that sometimes can be the only lens a person has viewed the world through.
